I have an Edward VIII Coronation bible printed by Collins London and Glasgow. I believe most of these were destroyed when Edward abdicated. However apart from the one I have I have heard of about another two.
Has anyone else seen any of these bibles and any idea of value?

Hi LayCockP,
You could try our valuation service. It costs £5 per book or volume set.
After that you might want to get it valued for insurance purposes. Peter Harrington (London) can do this if needed.

Most Edward VIII coronation commemoratives are very common but the Edward VIII Bible isn't because Collins took most of the Edward VIII Bibles and removed the covers and some pages and replaced them with George VI text etc. Bridwell Library at Southern Methodist University, owns a George VI coronation Bible and when they examined it they found that Collins may have extracted the photograph of Edward VIII and changed the first page to read, “To commemorate the coronation of their most gracious majesties King George VI and Queen Elizabeth, 12 May 1937.” Edward VIII editions are scarce. Most copies were destroyed or converted to the George VI edition. Value said to be between $400 and $600.
I found this on a fine book and collector site linked to Abe books. You can have a look and perhaps build on this or challenge it!I jst love researching.
