Description: Walter J Black, New York, NY . No Pub Date. Circa 1910. First American Edition Thus. Flexible Boards. Bound in full stated genuine Brown blind stamped leather with Gilt decorated and titled spine. Condition is Good plus as the front hinge binding needs repair. 1020 pages of 8 volumes in one. Top edge in Gilt.

The eight volumes in one edition seems to be his fiction works only. Doyle has a great deal to say in his works of Science Fiction like, "The Lost World," which he wrote in 1912, and also in Non-Fiction works like The Military History he wrote of The Boer War in 1902, entitled, "The Great Boer War." We have included a scan of the book's leather spine and front and most of its rear cover. Offered at an extremely low bargain price for such a uniquely rare leather volume of his complete Works of Fiction in one volume of over 1000 pages.

This 1337 paged classic is in great condition. The thin pages have no damage, with a small amount of foxing on the spine. Although there is no jacket for the book, the binding is strong. The inner binding has a split, but the book is very stable.

Very rare complete set of 25 Waverley Novels by Sir Walter Scott.

Luxury pocket edition (each book 6.25 inches x 4.25 inches x 1 inches). Published by A & C Black, undated on publisher pages, however these could have been a publisher subscription set as Volume 1 starts at 1829 in the first page advertisement, and later volumes mention 1830 and 1832 in the prefaces.

* Red leather luxury bindings, gilt edged pages, tooled gilt spines, tooled leather covers.
* Gilt edges to pages in bright good condition.
* Red leather tooled gilt bindings in very good condition. a couple of volumes have light surface marks on cover however these are likely light dust and some have very minor shelf wear to corner.
* Spines in excellent condition and Gilt Tooled Lettering in excellent condition
* Small foxing in a few pages of a few volumes but very light and most pages extremely clean and bright..

Unusual and rare hard to find edition - a beautiful set of books, illustrated throughout all editions. This edition also has notes, references and a glossary for each volume.

Published by Smith Elder and Co, London, 1878 and 1879. Bound in tan Morocco leather over marbled patterned board, mainly red,with raised band gilt spines. Illustrations by author and others, e.g. E.J Wheeler, George Cruikshank, J.P Atkinson, F. Barnard. The leather is lightly rubbed on most volumes with a few volumes having greater damage as follows: Volume 5 has damage to paper on the front cover and some cracking in the leather; volume 20 has a cracked spine between front cover and title page, a block of pages from 79 to 94 has loosened from the spine and there is slight damage to the marbling on the inside cover. There is a common light signature on all volumes and one volume has an attribution. Generally a very good set.

Originally priced at seven shilligs and sixpence this 637 pages of Channings complete works includes the five volume edition collected in 1841 and supplementary volume issued in 1843 containintg his subsequent writings. This volume of his work also includes the volume of sermons publishd by his nephew in 1973 under the title ''Pefect lIFE '' And the well known catechism for children. Also there is a table of scripture references prepared by Rev. Alexander Gordon M.A.
Condition is very good but last board is water damaged. This is a big heavy book with gold tooling to front cover and spine.
