Why you should get your books valued

You want to know how much your book is worth? You do not want the trouble and expense to send it to a book-valuer for an insurance valuation. You do not have the expertise nor time to evaluate the results of internet searches. You do not want to wait for an answer to be posted on a book forum. You would be willing to pay the cost of two cups of coffee to have an idea of the book's value. Then Rarelist's Expert Valuation Service is exactly what you need.

This service is easy to use and and inexpensive. All you need to do is sign-up as a standard member (free) on www.rarelist.co.uk and click on the link called "Valuation". You then fill in a simple form and upload up to four digital photographs of the book. Pay the fee and within a two days one of our panel of experts will contact you with how long it will take to give a view of the value of the book. Our target is to satisfy all valuation enquiries with 3 days; most will be completed within 3 days but some may take a few days more because the panel member may need to do more research. You will receive an email saying that the enquiry is completed and you will get a link to a page that shows the following information:-

  • Background about the book
  • It's value within a range e.g. (£80-£120)
  • Additional comments on value range
  • Recommendations from the expert about sale, storage and whether you should insure the book.

You can then provide feedback to us and the panel member on the service.
Members of our panel of experts are vetted by Rarelist and we will only allow people with real expertise to become members of the panel. We will also review the performance of each panel member regularly to ensure a quality service.
